The 2010 season has Arrived

Seventeen girls make up the 2010 Fortuna High School girls tennis team. Ten of the girls practiced 6 hours per week throughout the summer, hitting ground strokes, working on serves, and developing their on court craft. Seven girls are new to the team and game. However, after two weeks of practice they all have respectable forehands, backhands, and basic serves.

The season starts September 10 when 10 girls will travel to Redding to play in the Sun Oaks / Foothill High School preseason tournament. Each girl will play 4 to 5 one-set matches on Friday, and 4 to 5 one-set doubles matches on Saturday.
