 Redding Tennis Tournament

This Friday and Saturday we are taking ten members of our team to Redding to participate in the annual Foothill preseason tournament.  Players are placed into round robin groupings based on their ability.  Each player plays singles on Friday and doubles on Saturday.  We will leave Fortuna High at 9:00 AM on Friday and return approximately at 9:00 PM on Saturday.

In the past we have taken 8 or more girls to the tournament.  This year, we are guaranteed spots for 6 players with a strong possibility of our other four players getting matches, possibly at the last minute.  

Transportation to Redding / Housing

We will be taking two school vans to carry our ten players, two drivers, and assistant coach to Redding. The van drivers will be myself and Crystal Hein, a parent of one of our players.  On Friday night we will stay at the home of Vikki Burns, a former FUHS tennis coach and the current northern California USTA community tennis coordinator.  Contact numbers will follow.

Travel Fees

District transportation fees are $80 per member of the travel team, and are waived if the player qualifies for the federal free and reduced lunch program.  We will require fees for players who travel to more than half of our away trips, usually the top 6 to 7 players.

• Dinner on Saturday (usually at the Olive Garden)-=
  (Vikki Burns will give us dinner on Friday night and breakfast on Saturday morning. The tournament gives lunch on Saturday)
